Pandawa beach is one of the perfect beaches you will find in Bali. The beach is famous for its natural beauty, white sand, sparkling clear water and natural untouched environment. The beach is stretched in about less than a kilometre between the popular tourist area of Nusa Dua and Uluwatu. The beach is perfect to take some stunning pictures at and to do some amazing beach activity.

Famous For Its Untouched Beauty

The Pandawa Beach is named after the five heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and their statue is also built on the cliff. Before that, the beach used to be known as the “Kutuh Beach”, after the neighbouring village of “Kutuh”. Later it was renamed as the “Pantai Pandawa” in which Pantai means the beach and those it called as the Pandawa’s beach.

Pandawa beach is also known as the hidden beach because the beach area is hidden with a huge limestone cliff. Which makes it difficult to see or access the beach area. The beach was inaccessible for the public due to the limestone cliff. Only a few locals used to come to the beach to do seaweed farming and you can still see few seaweed farms remaining on the beach.

The beach was unopened for the tourists for a very long time. Until in 2012, a road was built by cutting the limestone and made it easy to access the beach for more tourists and local public. The road instantly transformed the Pandawa beach into the major tourist attraction on the Island.

Only after that the beach got so much popularity among the travellers and became one of the top beaches in Bali. As of now a lot of people can directly access the Pandawa beach which was tough for most of the people due to the limestone cliff.

The rainy season generally experiences periods of heavy rain and choppier seas. However, it rarely rains continuously, and temperatures are also fairly steady and hot year-round, meaning that you can still enjoy a nice day on the beach. Plus, there will be fewer people around during the rainy season as well.

As long as the sun is shining, almost any day can be a good day to visit Pandawa Beach. If you want to avoid the crowds, then consider going on a weekday as well as earlier in the morning or later in the evening. The beach is always most lively on weekend afternoons.
