Gitgit waterfall locally known as “Air Terjun Kembar Gitgit”, is one of the most stunning waterfalls in Bali located in the north part of Bali . The waterfall is famous for its natural beauty and a popular destination in Bali. The waterfall is located in Gitgit village in Sukasada district.
The height of the waterfall is 35 meters and made up of three waterfalls. The first waterfall is twin and consists of two waterfalls dropping from narrow cliffs. The third one is a continuation of twin waterfalls and has a lower height compared to the other two.
The waterfall is surrounded by the trees. It is a perfect place to swim in the cool water pool and to relax. You will get enough opportunity to take some good pictures at the waterfall and on the way to reach the waterfall.
The waterfall was opened to the public in 1975 and currently is one of popular tourist destinations in the North Bali tours.
The waterfall is about a 15 minutes hike through the paved steps and is a perfect place to visit with family. Thep journey to the waterfall is a trail in between markets and small shops. You can buy stuff from these shops if you would like to have shopping.

The waterfall opens at 7am in morning and the best time to visit the place is during early hours of the morning. At that time the place generally remains less crowded and you can enjoy the beauty of the place peacefully.
The entrance fee for Gitgit waterfall ranges between 10000/- IDR to 20000/- IDR. So, to enjoy the swim in silence with nature it is recommended to arrive early.
At the base of the waterfall there are changing facilities and toilets available. You won’t find any locker here to safekeep your things. There are some seating areas besides the waterfall, where you can keep your things but you have to keep an eye on your belongings.
You can swim right up to the intensity of the falls. Or if you’re looking to chill in a more quiet area, you can head back a little from Gitgit Waterfall and relax in the pools at the bottom of the rocks.
The waterfall is situated 10 km from the town of Singaraja and 70 km from the Denpasar. It takes 40 minutes to drive from the Lovian beach to reach Gitgit Waterfall.
You can rent a scooter to reach the waterfall, which starts at the price of 50,000/- IDR per day. Another option is to rent a private cab to reach the place, which start at 500,000/- IDR per day.
