The temple is devoted to three Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The name of the temple means the power of Lake Beratan. The temple architecture is a mixed design of Hindu and Buddhist architecture and said that the temple was built in 500BC.
Pura Ulun Danu Temple constitutes four distinct temples which include Dalem Purwa Temple, Terate Bang Temple, Lingga Petak Temple and Penataran Pucak Mangu Temple. There are three main temples in the complex of Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. All three shrines are each of different heights and represent different gods.
The tallest 11 tiers temple building is dedicated to Vishnu, and the second tallest seven tiers are dedicated to Brahma and the shortest with three tiers is dedicated to god Shiva. All these temples were constructed to honour the Hindu gods as well as to invoke fertility and prosperity in the region.
A sarcophagus and a stone table are belonging to the megalithic era (500 BC) on display at one side, is a major attraction within the temple complex. The artefacts make it look like the place had been a religious place for centuries in past.
You can also do some activities in the temple complex like boating in lake Bratan and enjoy the beautiful view from there. Hiking is also a good option for visitors in the nearby areas and another attraction of the area is Eka Karya Botanical Garden where tourists like to visit.

Tickets can be bought from ticket boot situated at the entrance gate of the temple. All payments here are done in cash so we recommend you to carry local cash along with you.
Opening hours for the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple are from 8:00 AM in morning and temple is closes at 6:00 PM in evening. It is advisable to wear a sarong while visiting this temple and try not to go into the temple with bare knees and shoulders.
The Ulun Danu temple is situated on the mountain terrain and the place has colder weather. So, wearing warm clothes are recommended to visit the place.

It takes around 90 minutes to reach Pura Ulun Danu Temple from Ubud and more than 2.5 hours drive to get there from Kuta, Seminyak or Legian.
